10:05Now PlayingYodit Tewolde sits down with Desmond Meade, President and Executive Director of Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, on Florida recently passing a law that would limit restrictions on vote-by-mail and drop boxes.
“Criminal justice or policing has always been a part of the systematic efforts to disenfranchise folks,” Meade says.
Meade’s work in Florida helped restore the rights for Floridians with felony convictions, excluding murderers and sex offenders.
