"It gives us an opportunity to hold police officers accountable," Brooks says. "What we celebrated in terms of Derek Chauvin's conviction that needs to happen, with respect, to so many human beings who have had their lives taken."
Brooks says that Congress seems reluctant to pass the George Floyd Policing Act but that members need to be pushed forward passing the bill.
"Until we fix policing, policing continues to render so many of us lifeless," Brooks says.
