“I think there are reasons to be optimistic and I think there are reasons to be cautious,” Moore says. “I think it sends a good message that there are tools in place to move these cases forward and, in fact, a jury will listen to the evidence and be willing to convict a police officer.”
Moore adds that since it’s only been a year since Floyd’s death and Chauvin’s conviction may be an outlier rather than the norm.
