8:36Now PlayingMarc Lamont Hill opens up the show talking to Dr. Elfred Anthony Pinkard, president of Wilberforce University in Ohio, about the school canceling the debt for 2020 and 2021 graduates. The school canceled over $375,000 in student debt.
“There’s a prevailing narrative about young African American teens and young adults; often that narrative is not a good one,” Pinkard says. “I was looking at and experiencing a group of young people who were offering a counternarrative, who had taken their future in their hands, who did not allow the uncertainty of a global pandemic to derail them.”
In other news, prosecutors have asked for additional time for a federal trial for the cops involved in George Floyd’s death.
