Three Muslim men sued the FBI for engaging in religious discrimination by targeting Muslim Americans by surveilling them. The agency wants the civil lawsuit thrown out.
“This is about saying to the FBI that you cannot treat any community in America as second-class citizens,” Ayloush says. “Historically speaking, we know that the FBI has had a long history of treating minorities, whether its African Americans, Latinos, Muslims and others as people who are deemed as suspects until proven innocent.”
