7:50Now PlayingA teenager in Ocean City, Maryland was violently attacked by police for vaping. Police are supposedly enforcing the no smoking ordinance.
Allegedly, the teenager refused to stop vaping and show some identification. The alarming video of the teenager being attacked by police was recorded by a bystander. Another teen was tased during the incident.
The offense became arrestable after the individuals wouldn’t provide some sort of identification. The officers' actions are currently under investigation. Another incident being investigated is the moment when 18-year-old Taizier Griffin is tased by police after violating a smoking ban and allegedly threatening to kill police officers.
These two recent events are causing outrage from the state's delegation. Adrienne Jones released a statement about these events: “Vaping on the Boardwalk is not a criminal offense. Black and Brown children should not be tased while their hands are up.”
