Federal procurement is a big business market in which the government operates from utilizing goods and services from the public. The Biden administration made promises to improve federal contracting access for minority-owned businesses. Minorities which land those federal contracts could help bridge the racial wealth gap.
However, some people said that getting a contract can occur if compliance and oversight are part of the solution. BNC’s Washington, D.C. Correspondent Bofta Yimam spoke to Jimmy Dillahunt Jr., who co-owns a construction company called CADET. Dillahunt talks about the exclusionary practices relating to bidding contracts.
