2:41Now PlayingBNC’s Aiyana Cristal reports on how organizations address the racial wealth gap and build generational wealth.
The median wealth of Black households in the U.S. was $24,100 compared to the $189,100 for white households.
Kimberly Knox and her two daughters opened up a soul food and seafood restaurant, Infusion Crab ATL, as a way to build that wealth. Her two daughters are the youngest restaurant owners in metro Atlanta.
“Anything that I know how to do, I try to give it to them because I want them to be more advanced than I was when I was growing up,” Knox says. “I always wanted them to be self-sufficient.”
