4:54Now PlayingLyfe Jennings is calling out American Airlines for what he deems a racist experience with a passenger and an agent at the airline.
The “Must Be Nice” singer shared a video on his social media after a woman hopped in front of him when it was time to board, assuming he didn’t have a first-class ticket. The agent didn’t seem to help, constantly asking the singer if there was going to be a problem during the flight. “The thing about it is it’s this thing that you can’t prove. I don’t need to prove it,” Sharon Reed said on “Start Your Day.” “I'm Black, he’s Black, we know when these things happen, they don’t generally happen to our white counterparts. And usually, it’s Karen or Ken who are the offenders here.” Reed and co-host Mike Hill added that Black people have reason to be defensive because of constantly being profiled.
All this and more on “Start Your Day.”
