Hundreds of people were massacred over the weekend in Gedamaytu, having been caught in a longstanding boundary dispute.
Also, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the continent, as there’s an increase in cases due to the Delta variant and limits on vaccination accessibility and resources. Namibia and Uganda have gone under lockdown to prevent the spread, but South Africa lifted some of their restrictions after its third COVID wave.
