According to date from John Hopkins University, ICUs are at 93% capacity and most of the beds are taken up by COVID-19 patients. From the start of the pandemic, COVID-19 has been politicized, and now race is playing a role. The Lieutenant Governor of Texas is blaming unvaccinated African Americans for the surging COVID-19 cases. The Kaiser Family Foundation reports around 9% of Black Texans are vaccinated, compared to whites at 38% and Hispanics at 35%. Ironically, Governor Abbott blamed undocumented immigrants. Emergency room physician Dr. Geoffrey Mount Varner joins "BNC Live" with Tashanea Whitlow to discuss the topic.
