13:09Now PlayingWelcome to “Prime” hosted by Charles Blow.
Coming up, voting access and the battle of women's reproductive rights have become divisive issues in America.
Texas became one of 18 GOP-led states this year that have passed more than 30 new restrictive laws that create barriers to voting. In 2021, 17 majority Republican states have taken measures to restrict abortion access. Many of these laws ban abortion at a certain point of pregnancy, which challenges Roe v. Wade.
Brittney Cooper, professor of womens studies at Rutgers University, and political analyst and consultant Shermichael Singleton, join Blow on “Prime” to discuss how these issues are dividing the country.
