A judge granted a preliminary injunction to block DeSantis' "anti-riot" law, which criminalizes peaceful protests that may turn violent or are interpreted as violent through no fault of protesters.
U.S. District Judge Mark Walker called the new law "vague and overboard," and an assault to Floridians' freedom of speech. He wrote in his 90-page decision, "It unfortunately takes only a handful of bad actors to transform a peaceful protest into a violent public disturbance."
