After serving 26 years in jail, Castóon is expected to be released in the coming months. He is one of five candidates who ran from inside a D.C. correctional facility. He joins BNC “AMplified with Aisha Mills” to discuss why he chose to run for public office from jail. Instead of being addressed as inmates, Castóon would like be referred to as “incarcerated people.”
