7:06Now PlayingAlma G. Davis, founder of the Alma Domestic Violence Foundation in Atlanta, joins Sharon Reed on “Start Your Day” to raise awareness as we head into Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Davis says she grew up in a home of domestic violence and at age 14, it became “my norm” when she was subjected to extreme abuse from her first boyfriend of the same age. She says she started her foundation after deciding in her mind that no one should suffer that way and abuse should never be anyone’s “norm.” Davis has since dedicated her time to providing care and resources to those in similar situations.
All this and more on “Start Your Day.”
