A thousand letters were sent to people for this case in hopes of finding 12 jurors and four alternates who are impartial. Before the court session started, faith leaders came to sing and pray on the courthouse steps and the Transformative Justice Coalition chanted calls for justice.
BNC correspondent Jenyne Donaldson spoke to Arbery’s mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones, who said, “We're gonna get justice for Ahmaud.”
