Another book, “The Scandal of Standardized Tests,” which he edited, argues for dropping the SAT and ACT, as Dr. Soares calls the tests “racist.”
Dr. Denisha Jones, editor of the book “Black Lives Matter at School: An Uprising for Educational Justice,” wants to stop the use of standardized tests in public schools across the board.
She says they’re rooted in a history of eugenics as well as racism and are today particularly damaging to Black students, Black teachers and their schools.
Drs. Soares and Jones join Marc Lamont Hill on “Black News Tonight” to discuss.
