8:11Now PlayingIn Louisiana, there is a new sheriff in town and she is making history.
New Orleans voters recently elected Susan Hutson as the first Black woman sheriff in the state. Her priorities include criminal justice reform, starting with her deputies.

Hutson ran as a progressive with promises to end excessive use-of-force from officers.
BNC’s Jamiese Price sat down with the sheriff-elect who says she’s already hard at work even though she doesn’t officially take office until May 2022.
