4:47Now PlayingThe family of the 14-year-old girl Valentina Orellana-Peralta, who was accidentally shot and killed by Los Angeles police days before Christmas is speaking out through their attorney Ben Crump.
Her family described her as “beautiful, intelligent and had the whole world ahead of her.” Orellana-Peralta was an excellent student at an English-speaking school, even though English wasn’t her native language. According to her father Juan Pablo Orellana Larenas, she had dreams of being an engineer and being an American citizen.
“Never should this 14-year-old little girl ended up as collateral damage at a shopping plaza,” said Crump. “They came to America from Chile to get away from violence and injustice to have a better life in America.”
