On this week’s edition of “The Hill With April Ryan,” theGrio’s Washington bureau chief and White House correspondent, April D. Ryan, discusses the latest on Capitol Hlill to prevent a government shutdown.

Mount Vernon, New York Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard talks with Ryan about why she believes the ending of the temporary continuing resolution to keep the government funded will ultimately collide with the momentum of the November elections.

“The Hill” also dives into calls for Congress to reauthorize funding in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to continuing subsidizing high-speed internet for low-income, rural residents. And the U.S. Department of Agriculture will have an official count of the number of Black farmers in America. The total population has dropped drastically since the turn of the century, when there were more than 1 million Black farmers.
