A summary of historian and anthropologist Willam Reddy's influential book, The Navigation of Feeling: A Framework for the History of Emotions. Reddy attempts to bridge the divide between universalist and social constructionist accounts of emotions in society by employing both psychological and anthropological studies. In doing so he theorizes emotives and emotional regimes as a way to discuss emotions academically.
