When a man is lost and confused, he doesn't dabble in self-pity or cry over his situation; instead, he will try to figure out the fastest and most efficient way to solve his problems.
Men experience negative emotions through problem solving. Meaning, when we have a negative feeling, our first reaction isn't to punch a wall. Our first response is typically to sit down and create. We express our emotions through art and music and working out and building things. We call the reaction of feeling sad or angry and creating... "productivity." Men who express their emotions through violence are often unstable and operating outside of the masculine frame, but they tend to be a minority.
