-Jed also founded Mt. Gox exchange which went out of business
-In 2014, Ripple had a fork and Jed started Stellar Lumens
-Stellar is considered a more decentralized version of Ripple. It is more distributed, not only focused on banks.
-Stellar stole some of Ripple’s Swell Conference thunder by announcing it’s partnership with IBM and its network of banks
-The use cases for XRP surround profit-generating, payment processing solutions for banks, acquirers, and international corporations, while Stellar Lumens focuses on non-profit distribution of wealth to the masses on an international level.
-Ripple is about saving costs and increasing efficiency; Stellar is about increasing access.
