Google (Alphabet Inc.) is looking to broaden their acquisitions as a company. They are always looking for technology that disrupts and opens new opportunities. Ripple is a disrupter of cross border payment between banks. It’s solution is software based which puts it in a category that Google (Alphabet Inc.) would want. Most of the firms acquired by Google are based in the United States, and, in turn, most of these are based in or around the San Francisco Bay Area. Ripple is headquartered in San Francisco. Acquiring Ripple would help Google (Alphabet Inc.) to expand its holdings and give it another stronghold in a different industry, the financial/banking industry. It would bolster their current Google Wallet service!
