18:14Now PlayingThere was big crypto news today with U.S. banking giant Citigroup looking to trade Bitcoin Futures, MicroStrategy buying an additional 3,907 bitcoins for ~$177 million in cash at an average price of ~$45,294 per bitcoin. Bitcoin infrastructure firm Blockstream has announced a $210 million Series B financing round led by investment management company Baillie Gifford and iFinex. The raise now puts the company at a $3.2 billion valuation.
Three crypto-focused firms in Switzerland are using the Tezos blockchain to offer tokenized assets to institutional clients.
An XRP holders email from the SEC was featured in Ripple's latest brief and the email from the SEC states:
"...the SEC has not issued a determination on whether...XRP is a security."
Judge Netburn has scheduled a telephonic conference on 8/31 at 12pm EST to discuss the pending privilege dispute over Ripple's Motion to Compel the SEC to produce discovery documents repeatedly ordered by the Court. Call-in details not yet issued. Stay tuned.
