Barbara Walters was not allowed to ask the first question in interviews done alongside male host

During #BarbaraWalters's time on #TODAYShow, fellow anchor #FrankMcGee forbade Walters to ask the first three questions in any interview the two conducted together. To work around this restriction, Walters began doing interviews in the field. Walters then became the first female co-host of the show in 1974. Walters' life and legacy is being portrayed in a biography by Susan Page, called "The Rulebreaker."
