The iconic Times Square ball will turn red, white and blue on New Year’s Eve to kick off a years-long celebration of the United States’ 250th birthday. Then, there will be a second ball drop in New York ahead of the 4th of July holiday, which will be the first time ever in the 120 year history that the ball drops on a day other than New Year’s Eve.
