Olympic figure skating gold medalist Scott Hamilton had kind words for Alysa Liu, calling her gold medal-winning free skate at the women's single skating event "What can happen on Olympic ice when you love what you do."

Liu reacted to Hamilton's remarks live on TODAY: "To hear that from him, it's an honor, of course. And I'm glad it shows through, because it felt like that last night."

Liu is the first American woman to win a gold medal in women's figure skating since 2002.
