1:09Now PlayingMariska Hargitay's Broadway debut in "Every Brilliant Thing" is a special one, since Hargitay's late mother, the actress Jayne Mansfield, started her career there. Hargitay told Savannah Guthrie that it was "very beautiful" to make a film about her mother, "My Mom Jayne," and then perform on a Broadway stage.
Hargitay said that "My Mom Jayne" also changed the way she approaches her craft. "It did change, sort of, my acting, and I think directing, and just artistry in a freer way."
