The Trump administration has filed an emergency appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court to block a lower court ruling that mandates the rehiring of approximately 16,000 probationary federal employees who were dismissed as part of a significant reduction of the federal workforce. The administration argues that the ruling by U.S. District Judge William Alsup oversteps judicial authority and disrupts the executive branch's operations. Judge Alsup concluded that the firings violated federal law, expressing frustration with the government's approach to bypass established regulations.
