In this intimate at-home conversation, Tony Robbins, his wife Sage Robbins and producer Mary B., delve into a critical topic that touches us all: Mental Health. It's a universal truth that no one escapes this life without experiencing periods of pain and loss. While we all face our own unique challenges, there are fundamental keys that we can use to unlock and maintain a state of mental well-being.
Consider this: according to metastudies, only about 40% of people respond to treatments for anxiety and depression, and that 40% shows an average of 50% improvement in symptoms.
Knowing that, Stanford Genetics Lab conducted a controlled study at Tony Robbins’ Date with Destiny seminar to measure its effects. Of the participants that were clinically depressed before the seminar, 30 days after, 100% of study participants who were depressed were in remission, and their average improvement was 87.2%. No drugs, and in only 6 days of seminar participation. Entering the Stanford study, 17% of participants experienced suicidal thoughts. Thirty days after the seminar, none of the study participants reported having suicidal thoughts. Remarkably, one month after the Tony Robbins event, study participants still experienced a +50% increase in positive emotions (satisfaction, inner strength, well-being), while also reporting a -50% decrease in negative emotions (loneliness, anger, sadness, stress, anxiety). Additionally, they reported feeling happier and more satisfied in relationships. Study participants saw a -38% decrease in anxiety even 11 months after the seminar while the baseline population (non-Tony Robbins seminar participants) saw 28% increased anxiety.
In this episode, Tony, Sage, and Mary B., explore the critical ways to improve emotional fitness and navigate out of "stuck states”. They uncover specific tools for use in moments of overwhelm, stress, anger, or fear. The family explores the ultimate power move: assigning life events empowering meanings; and the fascinating connection between THE TRIAD of physiology, focus, and language.
