Around 5:43 PM on October 21, 2023, Officers Daniel Grossi and Shelby Seickendick from the Hoboken Police Department were dispatched to the area of Johnny Rockets at 134 Washington Street for a report of a female shoplifter that had stolen a pair of shoes at Cheap Maggies on 216 Washington Street. The officers soon learned that a female suspect had walked into the Sparrow Wine & Liquor store at 126 Washington Street. Officer Seickendick immediately recognized the suspect from a prior incident, and she was identified as 37-year-old Alysha Noel of Hoboken.

As Officer Seickendick made contact with the accused shoplifter, Officer Grossi was speaking with the person from Cheap Maggie’s. That individual indicated the he had surveillance footage corroborating his account of events. He told Officer Grossi that Alysha had stolen a pair of Uggs and agree to sign a complaint to pursue charges against Alysha. Based on these witness accounts as well as Officer Seickendick’s previous experience with the suspect, Alysha was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

The stolen pair of Uggs was returned to the person from the store, and both officers transported Alysha to the Hoboken Police Department for further processing. At the station, Alysha was searched by Officer Seickendick in more detail. After the search was complete, Officer Grossi handcuffed Alysha to the bench. Alysha was and charged shoplifting in violation of 2C:20-11B(1). After Alysha was processed at the Hoboken Police Department, she was transported to Hoboken University Medical Center to obtain medical clearance, and subsequently remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility for incarceration.
