Police Chase Shoplifter from Super Foods in Hoboken, NJ

Shortly before 8:00 AM on May 8, 2024, Sergeant James Barbo and Officer Alexander Miller with the Hoboken Police Department spoke with an employee at Super Foods on 301 Jackson Street regarding someone who had repeatedly shoplifted from that store in the past. Officers Anthony Ingraffia and Daniela Simone located an individual matching this description on Jackson Street, and apprehended her after a brief foot chase. Based on prior interactions with the Hoboken Police, the woman was identified as 42-year-old Shavon Smith. Detective Paul Quinn and Officers Dylan Archilla and Samuel Flores responded to the scene to assist as she attempted to flee the scene.

Shavon was placed under arrest for shoplifting, handcuffed, and escorted to the patrol car. She was transported to the Hoboken Police Department for further processing. After she was processed at police HQ, she was charged with shoplifting under 2C:20-11B(1) and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
