Woman at 4 TIMES LEGAL LIMIT (0.32%) After DWI Arrest in Lambertville, NJ

On April 13, 2024 around 5:13 PM, Patrolman Kevin Brown with the Lambertville Police Department responded to a call involving a blonde woman wearing a white jacket who was possibly intoxicated. He arrived on scene and made contact with a woman who was sitting in the driver seat with the engine running, and she was identified as Danielle. As he was speaking with Danielle, he detected a strong odor of alcohol and suspected that she may be impaired.

When he asked her where she was coming from, she told Patrolman Brown that she was coming from work. She was instructed to exit the vehicle and asked to perform field sobriety exercises. When he asked her if she had consumed alcohol, she admitted to having consumed vodka.

Patrolman Brown started by asking her to recite the alphabet from “A” to “Z,” but she was unable to recite the alphabet past the letter “P.” The second exercise was the One Leg Stand Test, and Danielle failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and kept losing her balance. The final exercise was the Walk and Turn test, and she was unable to complete the exercise.

Based on the report from the caller, the odor of alcohol, her slurred speech, and her inability to perform the field sobriety exercises in a satisfactory manner, Patrolman placed Danielle under arrest for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Department for further processing. At the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Department, they read her the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators, and she agreed to submit breath samples for testing. Her Alcotest results indicated a BAC of 0.32%, which is more than 4 times the legal limit of 0.08%.

Danielle was then transported back to the Lambertville Police Department. After the officers were finished processing her, she was released to her father pending her court appearance after he signed the Potential Liability Warning form on her behalf.
