19-Year-Old Arrested for DWI at Almost TRIPLE the Legal Limit (0.216%)

Around 3:29 AM on October 25, 2023, Patrolmen Thomas Wilson and Patrick Weimer with the Holmdel Township Police Department responded to a report of a noise complaint. As Patrolman Wilson arrived on scene, he observed a female in a gray 2023 Honda Civic who was sleeping in the vehicle while playing loud music. The woman, later identified as 19-year-old Isabella, was awakened and told to put the vehicle in park. Isabella seemed unable to comprehend his instructions, and he also detected the odor of alcohol as he was speaking with her. Patrolman Weimer arrived on scene shortly afterwards to assist.

Isabella was asked for her license, but she was unable to retrieve it herself. Patrolman Wilson asked her if she had been drinking, and she admitted to drinking alcohol earlier that evening. Isabella did not understand the officers’ questions, and the officers initially planned to administer field sobriety exercises. However, she nearly fell over and the officers determined that it would not be safe to administer field sobriety exercises.

Isabella was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and she was transported by Patrolman Wilson to the Holmdel Township Police Headquarters for further processing. At police HQ, Isabella was read the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators and agreed to submit breath samples for testing. Her Alcotest results indicated a BAC of 0.216%, which is almost triple the legal limit of 0.08%. After they were finished processing her, Isabella was evaluated by first responders and transported to the hospital for further evaluation before she could be released. She was issued the following summonses: Operating under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, and open container in a motor vehicle
