as posted by the channelAround 2:35 PM on August 31, 2024, Officers Daniela Simone and Marco Grossman with the Hoboken Police Department responded to a report of a shoplifting at ShopRite on 900 Madison Street. They were greeted by Felix at the front entrance and they walked upstairs to the loss prevention office. Felix informed them that this man was being detained by store security after attempting to steal soda and sushi. The officers were told that he had to be handcuffed by store security since he tried to run away.
He did not have any identification with him, but he was eventually identified as 22-year-old Ahmed Bryant. The items he attempted to steal were worth $62.07. Ahmed was handcuffed and placed under arrest. He was transported by Officers Simone and Grossman to the Hoboken Police Department for further processing. He was charged with robbery under 2C:15-1A(1) and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility. According to court records, he was found guilty of theft by unlawful taking under 2C:20-3A on October 10, 2024 and fined a total of $265.
