Woman Goes Ballistic After Getting Rejected from D’Jais and Gets Arrested

Around 9:02 PM on May 10, 2024, Patrolmen Kevin Marrin and Erik Lieb with the Belmar Police Department were assisting staff members at D’Jais as they were escorting a disorderly patron out of the bar. After the patron was escorted outside, they observed a disorderly female go under the rope line and attempt to get into D’Jais despite being denied entry. She would later be identified as 24-year-old Jenna. As she was arguing with staff members, they advised her to leave the property. She refused to heed their warnings to leave the property and became physically aggressive towards the officers. At this time, Patrolman Lieb placed her under arrest and the officers escorted her to the patrol car.

Jenna continued to resist the officers and they had to force her into the patrol car. She continued to use profanity during the car ride to the station. She refused to behave in the processing room, so they decided to place her in a cell. When they attempted to close the cell door, she resisted once again and she had to be forced into the cell.

Her parents learned about her arrest from another source and informed Belmar Police that her father would be coming to the station to pick her up. Patrolman Lieb stepped into the lobby around 11:01 PM to speak with her father once he arrived and told her that she may have to say longer because of her behavior. After he finished his paperwork, Jenna was released to her father pending her court appearance at 11:35 PM.

Jenna was issued summonses for the following offenses: defiant trespass, disorderly conduct, simple assault on police, threat or use force against law enforcement, interfere with business (Belmar Ordinance 16-26), and noise (Belmar Ordinance 16-3.1)

Court records indicate that on September 18, 2024, Jenna was found guilty of disorderly conduct (2C:33-2A(1)), resisting arrest (2C:29-2A(1)), and violating Ordinance 16-3.1. As a result of being found guilty of these aforementioned violations, she had to pay a total of $2,045 in fines. The other summonses under 2C:18-3B, 2C:12-1B(5)(A), and Belmar Ordinance 16-3.1 were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
