Man Arrested After Hiding Stolen Items in his Underwear at the Hoboken ShopRite

Around 6:50 PM on October 2, 2024, Officers Nasir Willey and Daniela Simone with the Hoboken Police Department responded to a report of a shoplifting at ShopRite on 900 Madison Street. They walked upstairs to the loss prevention office and made contact with a loss prevention employee. They were informed that this man was being detained by store security after attempting to conceal some stolen items in his underwear.

He did not have any identification with him, but he was eventually identified as 53-year-old Jamian Latimore. The items he attempted to steal were worth approximately $64.92. Jamian was handcuffed and placed under arrest. He was transported by Officers Willey and Simone to the Hoboken Police Department for further processing. At the station, he was evaluated by first responders and he threatened them. He was charged with shoplifting and making terroristic threats before eventually being transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
