Serial Thief Arrested for Stealing from CVS

Future Arrest at Home Depot

Around 10:53 PM on March 15, 2023, Officer Gregory Halikman with the Franklin Township Police Department initially responded to a report of a female shoplifter from the CVS located at 2037 West Boulevard. Officer Sean Obrikis located a 2007 Saturn being driven by a woman matching their description in the parking lot of the McDonald’s nearby, and he initiated a traffic stop. Officer Halikman then arrived on scene and made contact with the woman, who was identified as Diane Wareham.

He informed Diane that she may have stolen something from CVS, but Diane was in denial. He continued to speak with Diane as the officers went inside the CVS to review the surveillance footage. The other officers then confirmed that Diane had exited the store with a bath robe as well as some other items that she did not pay for. As a result of the surveillance footage, Officer Halikman asked Diane to exit the vehicle and placed her under arrest for shoplifting.

After she was placed under arrest, Officer Halikman transported her to the Franklin Township Police Department for further processing. Diane was charged with shoplifting under 2C:20-11B(1) and also cited for driving an unregistered motor vehicle pursuant to 39:3-40.

On November 2, 2023, Diane pleaded guilty to shoplifting under 2C:20-11B(1). The citation for driving an unregistered motor vehicle was dismissed, and she paid a total of $265 in fines.

Court records indicate that Diane has a long list of prior offenses. She had previously been arrested for driving under the influence and possession in Dennis Township on September 3, 2022. She was later arrested again for driving under the influence in Maurice River on July 17, 2023. Diane was also arrested again for shoplifting from Home Depot in Vineland on April 29, 2024.

Diane Wareham passed away on July 11, 2024.
