Serial Thief With Prohibited Items Steals Again from Hoboken ShopRite

Around 7:06 PM on August 10, 2025, Officers Mark Mooreman and Vincent Guastini with the Hoboken Police Department responded to a report of a shoplifting at ShopRite on 900 Madison Street. They walked upstairs to the loss prevention office and immediately made contact with the alleged shoplifter. The alleged shoplifter was identified as Michelle Rodriguez.

A receipt printout of all the items that Michelle attempted to steal indicated that the total value of unpaid items was approximately $113. Shortly afterwards, Officer Guastini placed Michelle under arrest for shoplifting. Michelle was handcuffed and escorted to the patrol car. Officers transported her to the Hoboken Police Department for further processing. A search of her incident to arrest yielded a cylindrical glass tube and copper mesh. She was charged with shoplifting under 2C:20-11B(1) and possession under 2C:36-2A. She already had an outstanding warrant for her arrest from Jersey City, so she was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

Court records indicate that Michelle was later arrested again for shoplifting in Hoboken, New Jersey on August 17, 2025.
