Woman Blows OVER TRIPLE the Limit After SECOND DWI Arrest (0.287% BAC)

Around 7:00 PM on August 19, 2025, Sergeant Connor McGrath with the Highlands Police Department observed a black 2018 Toyota Rav4 swerving across lanes after coming over the Highlands/Sea Bright Bridge. He began pursuing the vehicle and noticed that the driver continued to swerve on Route 36 northbound. Since the driver continued swerving, he activated his emergency lights to initiate on Route 36 in the vicinity of Waddell Avenue.

Sergeant McGrath exited his vehicle and made contact with the driver, who was identified as Nicole Husar. As he was speaking with Nicole, Sergeant McGrath detected the odor of alcohol and observed other indicators of impairment. She told the officer that she was driving to pick up her husband from the ferry terminal. After Patrolman Kevin Connor arrived on scene to assist, he asked Nicole to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises.

Sergeant McGrath started with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. During the HGN test, Sergeant McGrath observed the lack of smooth pursuit, distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation, and the onset of nystagmus prior to 45 degrees. The second exercise was the Walk and Turn Test. During the Walk and Turn test, Nicole did not touch heel-to-toe on each step, turned improperly, and took an incorrect number of steps in each direction. The third exercise was the One Leg Stand test, and Nicole did not raise her foot in the proper fashion while putting her foot down before the test was complete. The final exercise was the recitation of the alphabet from “A” to “Z,” but Nicole was unable to do so satisfactorily.

Based on her erratic driving, the odor of alcohol, and her inability to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises, Nicole was placed under arrest. Patrolman Connor transported Nicole to the Highlands Police for further processing. At the station, Nicole was read the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators and she agreed to submit breath samples. Her Alcotest results indicated a BAC level of 0.287%, which was more than triple the legal limit of 0.08%.

Nicole was issued the following citations:

-Operating under the influence (39:4-50)

-Reckless driving (39:4-96)

-Traffic on marked lanes (38:4-88)

-Driving an unregistered motor vehicle (39:3-4)

-No liability insurance coverage on motor vehicle (39:6B-2)

Nicole has previously been arrested for another DWI in Shrewsbury, New Jersey on March 22, 2023. Prior to that DWI in Shrewsbury, she had also been cited for failure to report an accident and leaving the scene of an accident in Long Branch, New Jersey on March 2, 2023.
