Girl With Sugar Daddy Tries Using Stolen Credit Card for $3,870 at Louis Vuitton

Around 3:56 PM on November 9, 2024, Officer Jonathan Darling with the Tampa Police Department responded to the International Plaza and Bay Street mall at 2223 N Westshore Boulevard on a report of fraudulent credit card activity. He made contact with the alleged victim outside the Louis Vuitton store. She informed Officer Darling that she was alerted to a potentially fraudulent purchase at Nordstrom in the amount of $1,015.88. Following this purchase, someone attempted to purchase a bag for $3,870 at Louis Vuitton, but the transaction was declined.

Officer Darling spoke with store personnel at Louis Vuitton, and they informed him the same woman later returned to the same store with a much older man who was probably her sugar daddy, and he ultimately bought her the bag. They waited for the woman to leave the Louis Vuitton store with her sugar daddy, before they made contact with her and detained her. The woman initially seemed to have a different identity, but she provided the officer with a credit card indicating that her actual name was Valerie Sahai. She lied to the officer by telling him that she did not have any identification, and it would later be discovered that she did in fact have a Florida driver’s license.

Officer Darling questioned her Valerie what she was doing, and he knew that she was lying to him because she contradicted herself multiple times. He eventually walked over to the loss prevention office and reviewed the surveillance footage, which confirmed that Valerie initially attempted to purchase a $3,870 bag at Louis Vuitton but her card got declined.

Based on the victim’s account of events, multiple witness statements, and the surveillance footage, Valerie was placed under arrest. Valerie was handcuffed and escorted by Officer Darling all the way to the patrol car. After she was advised of her Miranda rights, Valerie confessed. Officer Deveka McKinney arrived on scene to conduct a search of her persons, and Officer Jae Haxton transported Valerie to the Orient Road Jail.

Valerie was charged with the following offenses:

-2 Counts of Fraudulent use of a credit card over $100 (817.61)

-Grand Theft Third Degree (812.014(2)(C)1)
