Woman Steals $904 Worth of Clothes from Von Maur

On December 16, 2025 at approximately 3:13 PM, Officers Adem Nazifi and Christopher Morales with the St. Charles Police Department responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody at Von Maur on 3810 E Main Street. They arrived on scene and made contact with store employees. They were informed that a woman attempted to steal a total of $904 worth of clothes by concealing them inside a bag and attempting to leave the store with them. The alleged thief was identified as Mayra Acevedo.

Officer Nazefi reviewed the receipt and the surveillance footage, while Officer Morales helped with translation. The surveillance footage revealed that Mayra first entered the store with 2 empty Von Maur shopping bags around 2:20 PM. She allegedly concealed items of clothing inside those shopping bags before going inside the fitting rooms. After she exited the fitting rooms, she allegedly attempted to exit the store with the unpaid clothing concealed inside the Von Maur shopping bags around 2:44 PM.

Once she was past all points of sale, Mayra was stopped by loss prevention and detained inside the loss prevention office. Since the store decided to press charges, Mayra was placed under arrest for Felony Retail Theft. She was placed in the patrol car and transported to the St. Charles Police Department for further processing. ASA Hudson approved 1 charge of Class 3 Felony Retail Theft (720 ILCS 5/16-25(a)(1)). Mayra was then given a court date of January 15, 2026 and released on her own recognizance.

-Striped Ciebon pants ($98)

-Sunsets black shorts ($84)

-Vuori purple sports bra ($74)

-Beyond Yoga brown sports bra ($55)

-Echo scarf ($49)

-Leiloni black shorts ($48)

-Black North Face gloves ($40)

-Pillow pole socks ($18)

-Black lemon long socks ($16)

-Pink Moa Moa top ($7)

-Red Moa Moa shorts ($7)
