20-Year-Old Steals $303 in Items from Walmart and Gets Banned for Life

On December 13, 2025 at approximately 4:19 PM, Officer Ben Devol with the St. Charles Police Department was dispatched to a report of a shoplifter in custody at Walmart on 150 Smith Road. He arrived on scene and made contact with a loss prevention employee. He was informed that a woman attempted to steal a total of $303.10 worth of items by concealing them inside a large black bag. The alleged thief was identified as 20-year-old Kisara Limaree Prestige.

Officer Prestidge reviewed the receipt and the surveillance footage, while Officer TJ Coffield arrived on scene to assist shortly afterwards. The surveillance footage revealed that Kisara attempted to leave with stolen items. She was apprehended in the vestibule before the police were called to the store.

Since the store decided to press charges, Kisara was placed under arrest for retail theft. She was also informed that she was banned from all Walmart stores for life. Kisara was placed in the patrol car and transported to the St. Charles Police Department for further processing. Officer Coffield stayed behind and took photographs of the stolen items, which included clothes, toys, and a Crossbody bag.

At the station, DuPage County Felony Screening was contacted, and ASA Derkacz declined to charge her with Felony Retail Theft. Instead, she was charged with Misdemeanor Retail Theft (720 ILCS 5/16-25(a)(1)). Kisara was then given a court date of January 23, 2026 at the DuPage County Judicial Center and released on her own recognizance. Officer Devol transported Kisara back to her car after she was released.
