Drunk Woman First Dodges a DWI, then Falls Asleep Drunk at Wawa

On July 28, 2024 around 4:48 AM, Officer Salvatore Mannino, Officer Stephen Solovey, and Sergeant Kenneth Tenner with the Lumberton Township Police Department responded to a report of a female who was asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot of Wawa (1522 Route 38). They arrived on scene and noticed that a female was asleep behind the wheel of a white 2016 Chevy Equinox. They made contact with the subject and awakened her, and she was eventually identified as Danielle Parfaite.

Danielle told him that she was headed back home, and admitted that she had gone out in Cherry Hill earlier that evening. Despite the odor of alcohol, she denied consuming any alcohol earlier that evening. It was later determined that she had just been stopped after running a red light in Moorestown, NJ, but the officer let her drive away with just a warning. Based on the officers’ suspicion of impairment, Danielle was asked to perform field sobriety exercises.

Danielle did not perform well on the field sobriety exercises. Based on the caller’s report of an unresponsive driver, the odor of alcohol, and her inability to satisfactorily perform the field sobriety exercises, Danielle was placed under arrest for operating under the influence. She was handcuffed and placed inside the patrol car. Her vehicle was impounded by for a mandatory 12-hour hold under John’s Law.

Danielle was transported to the Lumberton Township Police Department for further processing. The Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators was read to her, and she agreed to submit breath samples. Her Alcotest results indicated a BAC level of 0.08%, but that the lowest IR result. On another control test, her BAC levels were at an EC result of 0.100% and IR result of 0.098%. Once they finished processing her, Danielle was eventually released to a sober adult pending her court appearance after he signed the Potential Liability Warning form on Danielle’s behalf.

Danielle was issued the following citations:

-Operating under the influence (39:4-50)

-Reckless driving (39:4-96)

-Careless driving (39:4-97)

Court records indicate that on March 18, 2025, Danielle’s DWI citation was dismissed in the Lumberton Township Municipal Court. However, she did plead guilty to careless driving and reckless driving. As a result of her convictions, Danielle had to pay a total of $480 in fines.
