Drunk Bartender DESTROYS 2 Cars in a Horrific Crash After Blowing a Stop Sign

Around 10:00 PM on November 19, 2025, Officer Omar Santos with the Vineland Police Department to the intersection of South Lincoln Avenue and Menantico Road on a report of a 2-vehicle collision. He arrived on scene shortly afterwards, and made contact with Jason Jakubek, the driver of a black 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Jason told Officer Santos that he was heading north on South Lincoln Avenue, and that his vehicle was struck as he passed the intersection with Menantico Road.

It was determined that the Jeep was struck by a westbound 2020 Kia Sorento, after the driver failed to stop at the stop sign. The driver of the Kia Sorento was identified as Liane Pitale. Liane told the officers that she had been at Uncle Ricky’s bar earlier that day, and admitted to drinking alcohol while she was there. She was also displaying indicators of impairment. Based on their suspicion of impairment, Liane was eventually asked to perform field sobriety exercises after Officer Laboy arrived on scene to assist.

The first exercise was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. During the HGN test, Officer Santos observed the lack of smooth pursuit, distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation, and the onset of nystagmus prior to 45 degrees. The second exercise was the Walk and Turn test. During the Walk and Turn test, Liane failed to touch heel-to-toe on each step and turned improperly. The final exercise was the One Leg Stand test. During the One Leg Stand test, Liane failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and displayed a lack of balance.

Based on the motor vehicle crash, the odor of alcohol, her admission to drinking earlier that evening, and her poor performance on the field sobriety exercises, Liane was placed under arrest for DWI. Her vehicle was impounded for a 12-hour hold according to John’s Law, while Officer Santos transported Liane to the Vineland Police Department for further processing.

At the station, the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators was read to her, and she agreed to submit breath samples. Her Alcotest results indicated a BAC level of 0.093%, which was over the legal limit of 0.08%. When she was being questioned, she stated that she was a bartender at Villa Fazzolari Ristorante in Buena, NJ. She admitted to consuming 4 drinks (2 shots and 2 beers) at Uncle Ricky’s bar earlier that evening. After the officers finished processing her, Liane was released to her son Tyler Ullrich after the signed the Potential Liability Warning form on her behalf.

Officer Santos issued Liane the following traffic tickets:

-Operating under the influence (39:4-50)

-Reckless driving (39:4-96)

-Failure to stop at a stop sign (39:4-144)

She was also criminally charged with Assault by Auto (2C:12-1C(2)) because the victim complained of pain in his right arm resulting from the crash. As of April 27, 2026, court records indicate that Liane’s case is still pending in court.
