Home Health Aide Steals 88-Year-Old Client's Car

On March 2, 2026 around 7:01 AM, a Flock license plate reader camera notified the Westfield Police Department about a stolen vehicle that entered town in the area of East South Avenue and Windsor Avenue. The vehicle had just been entered stolen by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office at 12:31 AM on March 2, 2026. Patrolman Donald Picciano was traveling west on East North Avenue, and he observed that a gray 2021 Dodge Challenger was parking in the parking lot of the Walgreens at 260 East North Avenue. He advised dispatch of his findings and made contact with the occupant of the vehicle, who was eventually identified as 28-year-old Diarah Davis.

Diarah was ordered to exit the vehicle, and she told the officers that she was unaware the vehicle had been reported stolen. Dispatch contacted the Martin County Sheriff’s Office around this time, and they confirmed that the vehicle was in fact stolen. Diarah was immediately placed in handcuffs, and informed that she was being detained as the officers were conducting an investigation.

Patrolman Marlow, Patrolman Perkins, Detective Bagan, and Sergeant DaSilva arrived on scene shortly afterwards. She told the Detective that she cared for her 88-year-old client at his residence in Florida and that she resided in Delaware. After they searched the vehicle and confirmed that the vehicle was in fact stolen, Diarah was placed under arrest. The vehicle was towed by George’s Towing and transported to the Westfield Police Department’s seizure bay.

Diarah was transported to the Westfield Police Department for further processing. The value of the Dodge Challenger was determined to be approximately $24,000. Once they finished processing her, she was eventually released with summonses pending her court appearance. Diarah was charged with receiving stolen property (2C:20-7A) and driving with a suspended registration (39:3-40).

Diarah was later arrested again by the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office in Florida for allegedly stealing another car on March 27, 2026.
