Woman Arrested for THIRD DWI After Witness Follows her Home

Around 4:08 PM on April 12, 2024, Trooper David Brooks with the New Jersey State Police was detailed to the intersection of State Highway 206 and Pemberton Road for a reported erratic driver complaint. Dispatch then relayed that there was a concerned motorist who was following a silver Chevrolet Malibu that was traveling towards Pemberton Township, before ultimately pulling into the driveway of a residence. As he arrived on scene, he noticed that there was silver 2012 Chevrolet Malibu inside the driveway.

He made contact with the driver inside the residence, who was later identified as Nicolette Jones. She admitted to operating the vehicle earlier, and she was displaying signs of impairment. Nicolette denied consuming any alcohol earlier that day, but admitted that she does take prescription medications. Based on his suspicion of impairment, he asked Nicolette to perform field sobriety exercises.

Her poor performance on the field sobriety exercises confirmed his suspicions of impairment, and Trooper Brooks placed Nicolette under arrest for driving under the influence. A search of her vehicle incident to arrest yielded the presence of an open container. Her vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 12-hour hold under John’s Law. Trooper Brooks then transported Nicolette to the NJSP’s Red Lion station for further processing.

At the station, Nicolette was read the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators, and agreed to submit breath samples. Her breath test results indicated a BAC level of 0.00%, but Trooper Brooks suspected that she was still impaired. Trooper Bowman then responded to the station to conduct a DRE evaluation, and he determined that Nicolette was under the influence of a CNS depressant.

Nicolette was then asked to submit a urine sample, but she refused. In response, Trooper Brooks obtained search warrant for a blood draw. The blood draw was administered at a hospital. While they were at the hospital, Nicolette admitted that she sometimes takes more of her medication than she is supposed to, and admitted to trying other recreational substances.

After the blood draw, Nicolette was eventually transported back to the residence. She was released to a sober adult pending her court appearance after he signed the Potential Liability Warning Form.

Nicolette was issued the following traffic citations:

-Operating under the influence (39:4-50)

-Reckless Driving (39:4-96)

-Careless driving (39:4-97)

-Open container (39:4-51B)

-Driving with a suspended license (39:3-40)

-Driving without a license (39:3-10)

-Improper action on steep grade or curve (39:4-55)

-Failure to keep right at an intersection (39:4-83)

-Failure to pass to right when proceeding in the opposite direction (39:4-84)

-Unsafe operation of a vehicle (39:4-97.2)

-Improper turn at a traffic control signal (39:4-115A)

-Failure to give proper signal (39:4-126)

-Failure to obey traffic signals (39:4-215)

-Maintenance of lamps (39:3-66)

Court records indicate that on December 16, 2024, Nicolette pleaded guilty to reckless driving and driving with an expired license. As a result of her guilty pleas, Nicolette’s license was revoked for 60 days and she had to pay a total of $480 in fines. The other traffic citations were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Nicolette has previously been arrested for DWI in Medford Township on October 9, 2020. This was followed by her second DWI arrest in Southampton Township on October 29, 2020. Following this arrest, Nicolette was later arrested for her fourth DWI in Medford Township on December 12, 2024. Her fourth DWI arrest was followed by a fifth DWI arrest in Medford Township on April 6, 2025.
