YouTube Description
as posted by the channelToday we dive deeply into the beautiful world of vocal onset. Onset is an essential phase of sound production. Every time you vocalize you have an onset! Because of that, it's so important to ensure our initial attack to the sound is efficient, stable, and supportive towards our goals.
Often times when students explore voice feminization, the effort applied towards resonance or pitch degrades the quality of their onset. It's important to be aware of these mistakes to work towards improving them. Additionally, beginners tend to try "overcontrolling" their voice where they actively try and think about making sound manually. This attempt to micromanage the voice tends to cause awkward and stilted onsets.
Awkward and stilted onsets -- accidental unbalanced onsets encourage instability and turbulence in the voice.
Today we will dissect everything you need to know about vocal onset.
