YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThis month’s award goes to Officer Tommy Norman of the North Little Rock Police Department. While police departments across the United States have been the targets of anger and protests over the shooting deaths of black men, social media users have flocked to the accounts of an Arkansas police officer who offers a starkly different view of community policing — one that involves snacks, dancing and even a Slip ‘N Slide.
Officer Tommy Norman, a 43-year-old native of North Little Rock, Ark., and a longtime patrol officer with the city’s police department, is a modern (and human) version of Officer Friendly or McGruff the Crime Dog. His campaign to change how people view the police is built for social media, with a constant stream of videos, photos and inspirational words of advice.
He has done such an awesome job that winner this month’s Blue Line Hero Award was a no brainer.
Congratulations Officer Tommy Norman!!!!!!
